Tiziana Mazzarella, Co-President
Tiziana graduated from Penn State University College of Agriculture in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Food Science. She served on the PSU Parent Council for six years and is a current member of the PSU Alumni Council. She is a life member of the Penn State Alumni Association and has been a PSU football season ticket holder for over 30 years. She owns multiple franchises with her husband, Joe, in Northeast PA including Auntie Anne’s, Cinnabon, and Planet Smoothie. In her spare time, Tiziana likes to walk her dog , travel, and spend time with family, Joe ‘ 90, Alexia ‘20, and Bianca ‘23.
Joseph Mazzarella, Co-President
Joe graduated from Penn State University College of Business in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Logistics. He served on the PSU Parent Council for six years, and he is a life member of the Penn State Alumni Association and PSU football season ticket holder. He currently owns multiple franchises with his wife in northeast PA including Auntie Anne’s, Cinnabon, and Planet Smoothie. In his spare time, Joe likes to drink coffee and travel.
Laura Hudak, Secretary
Laura received her Bachelor of Arts in English from Penn State’s College of the Liberal Arts in 2001. She earned her M.Ed. in English Education from the University of Pittsburgh and is a member of the English faculty at Holy Cross High School. Laura is a life member of the PSU Alumni Association. In addition to being a PSU football season ticket holder, Laura is an avid fan of men’s lacrosse. In her spare time, Laura is active in her community as Secretary of the Plymouth Public Library Board, President of the Plymouth Borough Planning Agency, and a member of Plymouth Alive. She and her husband, Mike, have two children — Collin and Dean.
Mike Hudak, Treasurer
Mike graduated from Penn State’s Smeal College of Business in 2001 with a B.S. in Management. He earned his MBA from the University of Scranton and works for UPS. Mike is a life member of the PSU Alumni Association and a Penn State football season ticket holder. His vision and innovation helped the Wyoming Valley Chapter win the “Most Creative” prize in the 2025 Penn State Homecoming Parade for his “Rolling Tailgate” float. Mike is a member of Plymouth Alive and Good Will Hose Company #2. He and his wife, Laura, have two children — Collin and Dean.
Jim Murphy, Social Chair
Jim Murphy is a class of 2013 graduate from Penn State with a degree in both Civil and Environmental Engineering. He currently works as a Construction Manager on large water infrastructure projects throughout Pennsylvania and the Midlantic and Northeast regions of the United States. When not working, he has a passion for the outdoors and all things Penn State. He and his wife are football season ticket holders and share a passion for football that can only be rivaled by their passion for tailgating.
Janelle Rushton, Marketing Director
Janelle is a 2015 Human Development and Family studies graduate. She works at King's College in Philanthropy and Alumni Engagement. Janelle moved back home to the valley after living in Philadelphia since graduation. In addition to the Wyoming Valley Chapter, she has been involved with the Philadelphia Chapter, the Hazelton Alumni Society, the Health and Human Development Alumni Society, and the Human Development and Family Studies alumni group. She is also a lifetime member of the Alumni Association.
